Every school software vendor now claims 'AI'. Most of it is a chatbot bolted onto an old product. This page is specific about what Edutris's AI layer actually does today, which plan includes it, and (because you'll evaluate other vendors too) the questions that separate real AI features from slideware.

What does Edutris AI actually do today?
The principal's weekly brief
AI reads the school's real operating data (attendance trends, collections vs target, admissions activity, upcoming exams) and produces a weekly digest: what's going well, what needs attention, and the single most important action this week.
Urgent items, by rule
An unmarked register, an absence streak, fees past the due date: surfaced the day they happen by the attention feed, which is computed from your records rather than generated. No model is consulted.
Fee-risk scoring (a formula, not AI)
Each outstanding account is scored for default risk from payment history and overdue patterns, so the office chases the right dozen accounts instead of all three hundred. The score is arithmetic, reproducible and auditable; the AI part is the reminder it helps draft.
Reminder & collection drafting
AI drafts polite, firm fee-reminder messages and suggests a collection strategy: the office reviews and sends with one click.
Academic analytics
Exam performance summaries and weak-area detection across classes and subjects. (Teacher workload is shown on the timetable as arithmetic, not analysed by a model.)
Parent communication
Drafts announcements and individual parent notes, and translates messages to Hindi in one tap.
Which plan are the AI features on?
Edutris's AI features are included from the Professional plan up. The rest of the platform (attendance, fees, exams, report cards, admissions, the parent app, timetables, communication, staff records) is included on every plan. We'd rather tell you that in the second paragraph than surprise you on the pricing page.
What should you ask a vendor claiming AI?
"Show me, live, on real data."
A genuine AI feature can run in the demo on the demo school's data, not in a video.
"What data does it read, and where does it go?"
You should get a specific answer about what leaves the system, and how student data is protected. (Edutris: data handling built around DPDP principles, role-based access, per-school isolation.)
"Which plan is it on, exactly?"
If AI is the headline, gating should be disclosed before the sales call, not after.
"What does it deliberately not do?"
An honest vendor has a clear answer. Ours: Edutris AI assists staff, it drafts, scores, and summarises for a human to review. It doesn't auto-send messages or make decisions unattended.
Should school AI be assistive or autonomous?
Schools run on trust, and a wrong automated message to a parent costs more than it saves. Every Edutris AI output (a reminder draft, a risk score, a weekly brief) is a recommendation a staff member reviews and acts on. The AI does the reading, pattern-finding and drafting that consumes hours; people keep the judgement and the send button.

Which Edutris plan includes the AI features?
AI features (the weekly principal brief, academic analytics, reminder drafting and parent-communication drafting with Hindi translation) are available from the Professional plan up. Every other module is included on all plans. The attention feed and fee-risk scores are rules, not AI, and are not gated by the AI plan.
Does the AI make decisions or send messages on its own?
No. Edutris AI is assistive by design: it drafts, scores, summarises and alerts, and a staff member reviews before anything is sent or acted on.
Is student data safe with AI features enabled?
AI features operate under the same controls, built around DPDP Act 2023 principles, as the rest of the platform: role-based access, per-school data isolation and encryption in transit. AI is also platform-gated, so it can be enabled or disabled for a school.
Will AI school software replace office staff or teachers?
No, and vendors who imply it will are overselling. AI removes the reading, compiling and drafting work: the hour spent assembling a weekly status, the afternoon spent identifying which fee accounts to chase. The judgement, relationships and decisions stay with people.
