How it's calculated

Attendance percentage

Attendance % = (days attended ÷ total working days) × 100. This is the standard formula used by CBSE schools for board-exam eligibility.

The 75% requirement

CBSE mandates a minimum of 75% attendance to appear for board examinations (medical and other exemptions are decided case-by-case by the school and board). We flag whether the student currently meets this threshold.

Days needed to reach 75%

If a student is below 75%, we compute how many additional consecutive days they must attend (assuming those future days are also working days) to cross the 75% mark.

Frequently Asked Questions

CBSE requires a minimum of 75% attendance in the academic session for a student to be eligible to appear in board examinations. Schools may condone a shortfall in genuine cases such as documented medical emergencies, but 75% is the standard rule.

Attendance percentage is the number of days (or classes) attended divided by the total number of working days (or classes held), multiplied by 100. For example, 150 days attended out of 200 working days is (150 ÷ 200) × 100 = 75%.

It depends on how far below 75% you are and how many working days remain. This calculator computes the minimum number of additional working days you must attend in a row to reach exactly 75%, so you know your target immediately.
