Parents & communication

What do parents see in the parent app?

The parent app (iOS and Android) shows each child’s attendance, fee status with payment and downloadable receipts, report cards when released, announcements, messages, the school calendar and documents. It also carries live bus GPS, PTM slot booking, digital permission slips and health records — and parents can raise a concern directly to the school.

Before you start

  • Get guardian phone numbers right in the student records — logins and alerts flow from them.
  • Enable parent logins from the student record; credentials go out from there.
  • Tell parents what to expect in the first week (attendance alerts, fee visibility) — adoption follows the first useful notification.

Steps

  1. 1

The school enables parent logins — credentials go out from the student record.

  2. 2

Parents install the app, sign in, and see each of their children.

  3. 3

Push notifications arrive for attendance, fees due, results and announcements.

Good to know

  • The app is per child: a parent with three children in the school sees three complete views, not a muddle.
  • Fees are transparent end to end — status, payment through the app, and downloadable receipts.
  • Report cards appear when the school releases them, never before.
  • Some features are app-first by design: live bus GPS, PTM slot booking, digital permission slips, health records and certificates live in the mobile app, while the parent web portal covers attendance, results, fees, timetable and messages.
  • Parents can raise a concern directly from the app, and it lands with the school as a tracked item — not in a personal inbox.
  • On the Professional plan and above, parents receive a monthly Child Growth Summary built strictly from the child’s actual records — attendance, grades, submissions — in plain, warm language. It invents nothing.

Common questions

What about parents without smartphones?

They are not cut off. Absence alerts and fee reminders also go out over SMS and email, so the essential information reaches every family — the app is the richest channel, not the only one.

Does Edutris send school messages on WhatsApp?

No. Communication goes out as app push notifications, SMS, email and in-app messages. That keeps school communication on channels the school controls and can audit, rather than in personal chat threads.

Can a parent see another child’s information?

No — access is role-based, and a parent account sees only its own children. Teachers likewise see their own classes, not the whole school.
