How do teachers mark daily attendance?
Attendance is designed to take under a minute per class. Teachers open their class register, tap "All Present", change only the exceptions, and submit — resubmission-safe if a correction is needed. Parents of absent students are notified automatically the moment the register closes.
Before you start
- Assign class teachers to their sections — attendance is marked by the teacher who owns the register.
- Make sure guardian phone numbers are loaded; absence alerts can only reach parents the system can contact.
- Publish the timetable — the teacher’s dashboard builds today’s schedule from it.

Good to know
- Attendance is a daily register, one per section per day — deliberately matching how Indian school registers work. It is not period-wise.
- Submission is correction-safe: if a student walks in late after the register closed, the teacher can resubmit with the corrected status.

- Absence streaks are surfaced automatically to the principal — the pattern a paper register hides.
- Low-attendance alerts with principal escalation can be scheduled through the notification engine; like all scheduled notifications, that is off by default until the school turns it on.
Common questions
Can attendance be corrected after it is submitted?
Yes. Marking is resubmission-safe — the teacher reopens the class register, changes the student’s status and submits again. The register reflects the correction.
Is attendance marked per period?
No — attendance is daily, one register per section per day, the same unit as the physical register and the unit boards count for eligibility. Period-wise attendance is not a current capability.
When exactly do parents get the absence alert?
The moment the teacher submits the register — parents of students marked absent are notified automatically. A parent whose child is present hears nothing, which is what keeps the alert meaningful.
